How much do architectural renders cost in India (2026)
Every mode priced out per view — from a Bandra studio quote to a Kakinada freelancer to an in-house Lumion setup to AI. Sourced from live quotes and our own studio's books.
Quick answer
In 2026, an architectural render view in India costs roughly:
- Studio (Bangalore/Mumbai/Hyderabad tier-1): ₹4,000–12,000 per view
- Freelancer on Upwork/Fiverr: ₹1,500–5,000 per view
- In-house Lumion / V-Ray operator (fully-loaded): ₹1,200–2,500 per view
- AI rendering tool: ₹8–80 per view depending on tool and plan
Those numbers assume a residential elevation, single view, one revision cycle, 3–7 day turnaround. Commercial, hero, or cinematic-quality work commands 2–4× these ranges.
1 · Studio quotes
A Mumbai render studio quoted us ₹8,000 per view for a residential exterior in Q2 2026. A Hyderabad-based studio quoted ₹4,500. Bangalore mid-tier: ₹5,000–7,500. What you're paying for: a trained operator, a licensed Lumion or Corona seat, texture library, post-processing in Photoshop, and — mostly — the studio's overhead. Turnaround: 5–10 days for first cut, then 2–4 days per revision.
Cost per view at 4 views + 1 revision cycle: ₹25,000–65,000 for a single project.
2 · Freelancers
Upwork and Fiverr rates for Indian freelance architectural visualizers range from ₹1,500/view (junior) to ₹5,000/view (mid-senior with a portfolio). Quality is high-variance — you're one bad hire away from geometry drift and lighting failures. Turnaround: 2–5 days.
Cost per view at 4 views + 1 revision: ₹8,000–25,000 per project.
3 · In-house Lumion / V-Ray (fully-loaded)
This is the mode most small firms don't cost honestly. Real numbers from our own studio:
- Lumion Pro annual license: ~₹1.5 lakh/year
- Workstation (RTX 4070, 32GB RAM): ~₹2 lakh, amortized over 3 years = ₹67k/year
- Trained operator's fully-loaded salary (₹50k/mo + benefits): ~₹8 lakh/year
- Assume 400 views/year output
= ~₹25 lakh cost / 400 views = ₹6,250 per view of true cost. Most firms only see the license + workstation and think it's "free" — the operator's time is the whole ballgame. Turnaround: 1–3 days per view.
4 · AI rendering tools
Prices per render in 2026 across the main tools:
- Visulixx: ₹62–80 per render (Free tier: 3 renders on signup)
- Krea AI: ~₹8–10 per render (500 credits / $10 month)
- REimagineHome: ~₹15 per render (starter tier)
- ChatGPT (gpt-image): ~₹20 per render
- Midjourney + Magnific: ~₹30–60 combined
The catch: cheap AI tools are only cheap when they work on the first attempt. Factor in re-render attempts to get past geometry drift and Indian-context defaults, and the effective cost for a client-quality render often 3–5× the sticker price on non-locked tools.
Real-world comparison — one villa, 4 views, 1 revision
| Mode | Cost | Turnaround |
|---|---|---|
| Tier-1 studio | ₹32,000–48,000 | 7–14 days |
| Mid-senior freelancer | ₹15,000–20,000 | 4–7 days |
| In-house Lumion (loaded cost) | ~₹25,000 | 2–4 days |
| Visulixx | ₹300–400 | Under 10 minutes |
| Krea + prompt engineering | ~₹80 (+ your time) | 1–3 hours |
What this means
AI rendering hasn't just changed the price — it has changed the unit economics. When a render costs ₹5,000, you charge a client ₹15,000 and hope. When a render costs ₹80, the render itself is not the business — the design conversation it enables is. That's why the studios still charging ₹6,000/view are being cut out, and the ones building it into a flat monthly design fee are winning.
Our advice, from a design-build studio's chair: use AI for concept and revision (fast, cheap, testable), use a human operator for final hero shots if the project justifies it, and stop pricing render as a line item. Bundle it.
